The 2022 Morgon Côte du Py has another very attractive bouquet with just a touch more fruit intensity than the Côte du Py, wonderful mineralité and tension. Very composed. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins, a little sturdier than the Cuvée Corcelette. There’s fine grip toward the finish with a persistent peppery aftertaste. Be patient. 2027 – 2037. 93 points – Neal Martin, Vinous

From 0.51 ha of vines in 2 separate plots planted 1993 and 1965, one in the steepest stoniest part close to Blagny which contributes excellent acidity and structure, the other part is from lower down where the soil is richer and this part gives greater richness and depth to the wine. This shows wonderful intensity […]

This is fascinating to compare directly with the Sable (sand) cuvée. Here, there’s more plum and blackcurrant depths, and also a smoky, hot-rocks kind of mineral profile. Long and strong, […]

The palate is fine, harmonious and svelte on the entry. This is a Perrieres demonstrating typical fine mineral nuance, though […]
Add to cart Producer: Jean-Louis ChavyIt is not often we get to taste a wine that is as fine and elegant on the one hand. And on the other hand? Wild intensity coupled with a mineral, earthy, gamey complexity. There really is nothing else like it in Beaujolais. Jean-Paul Thevenet has made one of his grandest wines with this Morgon […]
