A thoroughly complete Australian chardonnay, Evenfall’s white has a foot in just about all the stylistic camps and the total sum of its parts is awesome. Has all the drive, tang and mineral intensity of Chablis and the darker fruits, texture and flesh of Meursault. Lovely aromatics of gardenia, pastry, cashew, preserved lime, yellow peach and wood spice. Focused, with lasering acidity, fleshy orchard fruits, burnt butter and mouth watering blood orange. Driven and long; all the elements have integrated beautifully after 11 months in French oak, which frames silently in the background. Like the pinot noir, bargain fine wine. Norris at Waters Wine Co
Light straw with lifted aromas of white peach, lemon and grapefruit with hints of grilled hazelnut, soft spice, nougat, apple danish, distant notes of marzipan, tea cake, peach melba, softly spoken vanillin oak and struck flint. Creamy and textural on the palate with a beautiful flow and mineral-laden energy. Lovely, textural and focused drinking with just a tad more concentration than the ’22 release. 94 Points – Halliday Wine Companion
