“The 2022 Chassagne-Montrachet Vergers 1er Cru was reductive on the nose when I tasted the barrel sample, but that will be addressed by bottling time. There appears to be very good intensity here, and with time, there is an unexpected touch of Shiso leaf. The palate is well-balanced and poised, gently building towards an intense finish, more so than the Chenevottes, with a lingering spiciness on the aftertaste.
