“The 2021er Wehlener Sonnenuhr Riesling Kabinett offers a superbly appealing and hugely complex nose of lily flowers, lozenge, fine spices, thyme, rosemary, spearmint, almond, and cassis, all wrapped in great minty smoke. The wine is superbly playful on the palate, where there are refined flavors of vineyard peach, orange blossom, and almond cream. It proves airy and light-footed. The finish is very delicate and pure. What a great Kabinett in the making. 2029-2041” 94 points, Jean Fisch and David Rayer, Mosel Fine Wines
“Smoke and reduction still cloud the nose of the 2021 Riesling Wehlener Sonnenuhr Kabinett, but golden, aromatic, textured fruit somehow combines pink grapefruit and russet pear peel, golden Mirabelle and lime. There’s wonderful ripeness channelled with absolute precision on an elegant, smooth palate. Subtle fruit echoes long, real elegance.” 94 points, Anne Krebiehl MW, Vinous

The 2021er Wehlener Sonnenuhr Riesling Kabinett was made […]

“I’m a sucker for a good off-dry riesling (here, it’s 13g/L RS), and this certainly ticks a lot of boxes for me. The palest of straw and green flashes in the glass with fruit tones of lime, green apple, white peach and crunchy nectarine. Hints of citrus blossom, riverstone, wildflowers, starfruit and apple sorbet. There’s […]

More svelte and juicy – and appealingly playful – than the Leistenberg this vintage, with a relaxed and balanced sweetness. Refreshing acidity and beautiful stony spice on the lingering, dry finish. 17+ points. Paula Sidore, Jancis Robinson 2023 The Klamm, […]
Add to cart Producer: DonnhoffI love the ‘R’ designations on the Pressing Matters rieslings. From R0 for bone-dry to R139 for sweet, they are an indication of the RS in the wine. The R9, in theory, should teeter on that fulcrum between dry and off-dry, but that crystalline Tasmanian acidity tempers any sweetness and it appears dry. And totally […]
