“The 2021er Wehlener Sonnenuhr Riesling Kabinett offers a superbly appealing and hugely complex nose of lily flowers, lozenge, fine spices, thyme, rosemary, spearmint, almond, and cassis, all wrapped in great minty smoke. The wine is superbly playful on the palate, where there are refined flavors of vineyard peach, orange blossom, and almond cream. It proves airy and light-footed. The finish is very delicate and pure. What a great Kabinett in the making. 2029-2041” 94 points, Jean Fisch and David Rayer, Mosel Fine Wines
“Smoke and reduction still cloud the nose of the 2021 Riesling Wehlener Sonnenuhr Kabinett, but golden, aromatic, textured fruit somehow combines pink grapefruit and russet pear peel, golden Mirabelle and lime. There’s wonderful ripeness channelled with absolute precision on an elegant, smooth palate. Subtle fruit echoes long, real elegance.” 94 points, Anne Krebiehl MW, Vinous

Intense aromas of perfectly ripened white peach, apricot, makrut lime and fresh ginger. Ever so gently sweet before finishing so precise and dry you almost forget it was a touch sweet in the first place! Too good to spit and worth the long wait between drinks. 96 points – Halliday Wine Companion Noble Dry […]

Old school lemonade surges with a green apple drive. So fresh, there is a hint of cucumber in the midst too. Soft, talc feels roll out to a long and refreshing […]
Add to cart Producer: Castle Rock EstateI love the ‘R’ designations on the Pressing Matters rieslings. From R0 for bone-dry to R139 for sweet, they are an indication of the RS in the wine. The R9, in theory, should teeter on that fulcrum between dry and off-dry, but that crystalline Tasmanian acidity tempers any sweetness and it appears dry. And totally […]
Add to cart Producer: Pressing MattersPre-arrival due August Prüm’s 2015 Graacher Himmelreich Spätlese is clear, intense and flinty on the nose, very precise but well concentrated; however, it is the most reductive of the Spätlese quartet. Round and piquant, with a stimulating fruit and salinity, this is a very well-defined, crystalline and straight Spätlese of great finesse and elegance. It […]
