“Here’s a very classic Mosel Spatlese with exactly the combination of richness, elegance and delicacy that makes this category unique. Such delicate white peach and sliced pear, rose and honeysuckle aromas. Very long finish that is as succulent as it is refined. You just want to linger there for as long as you can. Drink or hold.” 96 points, Stuart Pigott, jamessuckling.com
“The 2022 Riesling Wehlener Sonnenuhr Spätlese #22 was selected in “two to three parcels of old vines,” Katharina Prüm explained. The nose still has a touch of yeast, and underneath, it shimmers almost with the crunch of a green but red-cheeked apple. The palate is utterly fine. This seems weightless and light, with the most serene balance of sweetness and freshness, coming across as effortless, unforced, with a subtle savoriness in the distance, waiting to make itself more felt in the future. For now, there is a gentle yet precise notion of white peach, tenderly sweet and utterly balanced. Supreme. Available at auction: 360 bottles, 12 magnums. (Medium)” 94-96 points, Anne Krebiehl MW, Vinous

Based on overripe and raisined grapes mostly from the Scheiterberg, the 2018 Auslese Petit Ayl is super ripe, intense and generous but clear and piquant on the nose where lemon zest and flinty notes intermingle. On the palate, this is a mouth-filling, piquant, refreshing and very digestible Auslese with an intense, lemon-fresh and piquant finish. […]
Add to cart Producer: Peter LauerThis is a wine that is always an impressive performer and represents top value for the asking price. Pretty scents of white flowers diffuse. Old school lemonade surges with a green apple drive. So fresh, there is a hint of cucumber in the midst too. Soft, talc feels roll out to a long and refreshing […]
Add to cart Producer: Castle Rock EstateThe Spreitzer Oestrich Lenchen Riesling Spätlese ‘303’ was first produced in the year 2000 and honours the Spreitzer brothers Grandfather who harvested his legendary Trockenbeerenauslese from the same vineyard in 1920 – which garnered a record sugar level of 303 degrees Oechsle. Coming exclusively from the Eisenberg this is rich with red apples and sweet acacia […]
Add to cart Producer: Weingut SpreitzerPre-arrival due August Prüm’s 2015 Graacher Himmelreich Spätlese is clear, intense and flinty on the nose, very precise but well concentrated; however, it is the most reductive of the Spätlese quartet. Round and piquant, with a stimulating fruit and salinity, this is a very well-defined, crystalline and straight Spätlese of great finesse and elegance. It […]
