Citrus, just think citrus. Lime that’s fresh juice, zest and preserved, Tangelo, Ruby Grapefruit, Mandarin blossom, gentle spice and Gardenia. Concentrated and deep, such a threading the needle attack, so precise and linear, then pincering the palate with wave after wave of flavour. Intense, dazzling and vital, with a finish that goes on and on. Waters Wine Co
Less that 20% of the usual volume made. This wine is made without additions of yeast, nutrients or enzymes. Once the juice is in the barrel a small amount of sulphur is added and then we wait, usually about five days, for the fermentation to begin. The wine spent 10 months on yeast lees in French barrels, of which 25% were new, and was bottled in late February. Typical and distinctive aromas of grapefruit and lemon with jasmine blossom lift from the glass and with time gently creamy and savoury/spicy aromas emerge. The palate is full, fresh, chalky, zesty, harmonious and quite smooth. It’s early days and five years of careful cellaring will see a building of complexity and texture.

2020 was a tiny vintage at Sailor Seeks Horse in the Huon Valley, yielding just 2 t/ha. But the long, cool growing season has produced wonderful Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. We continue…’ ‘This cuvee has been a blend of Perrières, Combes, Créots and […]
Add to cart Producer: Pierre-Yves Colin-MoreyScrewcap. Unusually for a Petit Chablis, which generally comes from the lower-lying sites on Portlandian limestone, the lion’s share of this cuvée is drawn from a parcel of Kimmeridgian-based soil. Yet it’s not necessarily the type of limestone but more the location that makes the difference. The small Defaix parcel is well situated on the […]

The 2018 Meursault Le Limozin wafts from the glass with notes of ripe pear, orange rind, hazelnuts and sourdough. On the palate, it’s medium to full-bodied, elegantly textural and lively, with a broader attack than the more incisive Chevalières, concluding with a saline finish. 90-92 points, William Kelly, The Wine Advocate Outstanding. Top Value. A […]
