Meadowbank Riesling 2024

$40.00

The 2023 Meadowbank was, and is, one of the best Rieslings ever to come out of Tasmania, so it was a pretty tough act to follow. Yet the 2024 is wonderful; prettier, more floral, with a greater degree of elegance to the force and stature of the 2023. Spring jasmine, citrus blossom, lemon and lime with subtle reduction notes of flint and cream. Juicy and succulent, with real volume, tempered by a sword of acidity and salty minerals. A tiny amount of residual makes this look like a Spatlese feinherb from the Rheingau. Norris at Waters Wine Co

“An Upper Derwent Valley riesling made by Peter Dredge that shows all the cut and crystalline focus that you’d expect from this top Tasmanian producer. Lime, grapefruit and green apple with hints of crushed riverstone, citrus blossom, clover, sea spray, lemon zest and lighter fennel at the top, and lemongrass further back. High-tensile stuff on the palate; it’s all about pure, taut citrus and apple fruits and a vivid, brisk mineral cadence. Finishes long and moreish.” 96 points, Dave Brookes, The Wine Companion
